Since taking ownership of this wonderful village pub the vision of the owners: Toby & Alexis, have never wavered from their dream of creating a comfortable working restaurant and pub and luxurious accommodation for paying guests. The first phase of development at The Red Cow was a kitchen extension. The project was started in January 2012, and building works were completed on June 2-12. This development has given The Cow excellent kitchen facilities that make delivering their delicious, fresh and locally sourced food a breeze. The extension was built using Woodgrove building services. The works were completed with the support of a grant from the European Rural Development Fund, administered by Eastern Plateau on behalf of the Local Action Group.
The Eastern Plateau Rural Development Programme is an exciting new investment initiative that is being administered by East Herts Council. The key aim of the programme will be to invest in local business ventures which operate within a defined geographical area of rural East Herts, North Herts, Uttlesford & Epping Forest. The objective of the programme is to grow the rural economy of the Eastern Plateau area with a focus on business growth and job creation. The second phase of development is the creation of 5 self-contained Bed & Breakfast units within the dilapidated listed barn structure and the single-storey old shop building. The bedrooms are now open and looking fantastic - see more on our accommodation page. |
